ESQUIZOFRENIA : ASPECTOS GERAIS DA DOENÇA E OS PRINCIPAIS ACOMETIMENTOS NA CAVIDADE ORAL
Resumo
O presente estudo teve como principal finalidade expender de forma extensiva os aspectos gerais da esquizofrenia, com enfoque no tratamento odontológico e no bem estar físico, mental e social desses pacientes. A esquizofrenia é uma enfermidade complexa e multifatorial que engloba transtornos com etiologias heterogêneas, sendo identificada em todas as classes sociais e raças, em toda a população mundial, e dada sua particularidade, a abordagem clínica deve considerar as dessemelhantes maneiras de condicionamento odontológico, e culminando no restabelecimento da saúde bucal de forma integral e humanizada. Observou-se que o cirurgião dentista deverá optar por métodos convencionais de manejo odontológico, aliado ao conhecimento prévio da Doença e suas particularidades físicas e emocionais. Baseou-se, em uma pesquisa bibliográfica de características qualitativa e exploratória, com pesquisa em bases de dados nacionais (Scielo, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde) e internacionais (LILACS/ BIREME e PubMed).
