ARTRITE REUMATOIDE E OS MÉTODOS DE DIAGNÓSTICO POR IMAGEM DA ARTICULAÇÃO TÊMPORO-MANDIBULAR
Resumo
A artrite reumatoide é uma doença reumática autoimune de comprometimento sistêmico, que acomete adultos, crinaças e adolescentes (artrite idiopática juvenil) caracterizada pela inflamação da membrana sinovial das articulações periféricas, podendo ocasionar disfunções da articulação temporomandibular. Para diagnóstico da patologia são utilizados dados clínicos, laboratoriais e exames de imagem, repetidos periodicamente para acompanhamento e prognóstico. Objetivo: Apresentar uma revisão narrativa dos métodos de obtenção por imagem para fim diagnóstico e prognóstico das alterações estruturais da articulação temporomandibular e estruturas adjacentes em portadores de artrite reumatoide, relacionando as principais vantagens e desvantagens dos mesmos. Metodologia: Revisão bibliográfica com seleção de artigos disponíveis na base de dados MEDLINE. Resultados e conclusões: No total foram analisados os dados de 21 artigos, de estudos epidemiológicos e relato de casos clínicos, dentre os quais os métodos de obtenção de imagens mais utilizados foram a radiografia convencional e a ressonância magnética, seguidos pela ultrassonografia e tomografia computadorizada.
